kid stabs home intruder

A 14-year-old Philadelphia boy is being hailed as a hero after fending off two burglary suspects who entered his home. Quadir Boyer stabbed one of the suspects. The suspect fled the home with a knife in his back.

“I thought they had guns. It was just crazy. It was like a  movie. It happened so fast. I was so scared. I’ve never been through anything like that in my life,” the boy’s mother Candace Johnson said. She believed the men who entered her home had guns.

Quadir knew what he had to do as his mom was yelling at the top of her lungs. “I saw them fighting with my mom’s boyfriend. I had to like had to stab him. I got the knife. My sister was frozen at the door, so I had to get her outside the house,” he said.

42-year-old Craig Jones rushed out the door after being stabbed by the young teen. He collapsed a half block away with the knife sticking out of his back. He was pronounced dead at the scene. Jones has 20 prior arrests. His accomplice is still at large. Police believe the pair followed Jones’s boyfriend home from a bar then forced their way into the home to rob him.

When asked what was going through his head during the ordeal Quadir said, “That I had to protect my family.” His mother injured her foot during the ordeal while the teen escaped without injury.

Police are still investigating, but charges are not expected to be filed against the teen hero who defended his family. An interview with the young hero is below.

What a brave kid! You couldn’t fault a 14-year-old for fleeing or hiding from a burglary, but this teen defended his family and took a long-time criminal off the street!
