I love tag team wrestling. Dare I say it’s my favorite form of wrestling, and what with Kyle O’Reilly and Bobby Fish currently wreaking havoc down in NXT, I thought it apropos to share one of their many fantastic tag team matches for the latest installment of Match of the Week.

reDRagon

Prior to joining NXT and linking up with Adam Cole to form “The Undisputed Era,” O’Reilly and Fish were known as reDRagon. They got their start in Ring of Honor in 2012, where they became three-time ROH World Tag Team Champions. The duo then went on to make several appearances for New Japan Pro Wrestling beginning in 2014, winning the Super Junior Tag Tournament that year and going on to become two-time IWGP Junior Heavyweight Tag Team Champions.

Fun fact: reDRagon defeated the Young Bucks on separate occasions to win each set of titles (ROH in May 2014, IWGP in August 2015). The match highlighted here, which took place at NJPW Dominion 7.5 in Osaka-jo Hall, was reDRagon’s whopping seventh tag title match against the Young Bucks in just over a year.

But, as I’m sure you’ve noticed by the title, the match at Dominion 7.5 was a triple-threat match also involving Roppongi Vice (Trent Beretta and Rocky Romero). Roppongi Vice are four-time IWGP Junior Heavyweight Tag Team Champions and the winners of the 2016 Super Junior Tag Tournament. And like reDRagon, they also have a long and storied history with the Young Bucks.

Needless to say, the match below is a good match. (Fair warning: the commentary is in Japanese and there aren’t any subtitles, but you can hear the wrestlers themselves speaking English. And besides, even if you couldn’t understand a word anyone is saying it’s well worth your time.)
