WWE fans have been far from happy with the current WWE product; this has much to do with champions such as Brock Lesnar, who are paid far too much and appear way too little. However, Goldust is defending the WWE, but inadvertently chasing away some die-hard fans in the process. Here’s the story.

Suck It Up And Stop Complaining!

Goldust rushed to the defense of someone who does not really need it, Finn Balor. Some fans voiced their displeasure about the rivalry between Bray Wyatt and Finn Balor. While Finn Balor is one of the most loved WWE superstars, people are tired of this pointless rivalry, myself included.

Unfortunately, Goldust takes the opinions of fans to heart and said the following to these wrestling fans:

Why Is Goldust Lashing Out at Fans?

Naturally, Goldust is passionate about what he does and this is admirable. He is defending his fellow superstars, who are just on the path to the career Goldust already enjoyed. Unfortunately, he is defending them at the expense of many fans who also care about the WWE.

My Opinion

I get why Goldust is defending his colleagues, but he should also realize fans are not tired of the wrestlers, they are tired of inadequate storylines and wrestlers who deserve championships being sidelined in useless rivalries.

In my opinion, this rant from Goldust is pushing fans even more away from the brand they used to love. I’m quite a passionate wrestling fan, but after this, I feel like “a pleb” being told off by a wrestling legend, who is forcing me to get on board with a product I don’t like.

So, as a wrestling reporter, I feel it is my duty to defend fans and make our voice heard. I will skip the quit your bitching and suck it up statement, as I don’t even want to dignify that with an answer. Here is why I have to say to the other statement made by Goldust:

“Try and enjoy the product we put on for you. That’s all i’m saying. it’s a tv show. Your’e not always gonna get what you want”

Here’s what I have to say directly to Goldust:

Yes, it is a TV show, but like all TV shows, viewers can lose interest when there aren’t many interesting storylines. You can have the greatest performers in the world, which the WWE does, but if you cannot tell an interesting story – or have champions that represent something greater – the whole core concept of “sports entertainment” is lost.

There is also a mentality in the WWE of undeserving champions, Brock Lesnar is one that springs to mind immediately. I’m sure you will agree that Finn Balor, Samoa Joe, or Braun Strowman, are more than deserving of taking that title and create something unforgettable. Unfortunately, they don’t get that chance and Finn Balor is stuck in a rivalry with Bray Wyatt while he should be getting a title shot. Therefore, you are trying to defend a company who is not giving deserving and talented wrestlers an opportunity to become even greater than they already are. Instead, we are left with a champion who clearly no longer has the stamina for a full-length match or any respect for the WWE Universe. For us fans, this is frustrating, because the WWE has so much more potential than a paper champion. This is why Goldust, fans are upset and angry with the current product.

Don’t get me wrong Goldust, I think you are one of the greatest wrestlers (sports entertainers) to step foot in a wrestling ring and you certainly have more knowledge than I could ever amass. However, when you work closely with people and have a genuine passion for wrestling, sometimes you cannot have the same viewpoint as fans who watch your product and don’t feel the connection.

What is your opinion on the current WWE product, the rivalry between Wyatt and Finn Balor, and Brock Lesnar still being the RAW champion? What would you say to Goldust after his statements? Let us know in the comment section below.
