Robison’s wife and fellow singer/songwriter Kelly Willis initially shared an update on Robison’s health about two weeks ago.

“Day 6 of trying to make Bruce’s fever go away. This virus is pissing me off. Plus…how long till it goes after ME?” – Kelly

Robison’s diagnosis of typhus could be a number of different infectious diseases including epidemic typhus, scrub typhus, or murine typhus. Common symptoms of the disease include fever, headache, and a rash.

Currently, there is not a commercial vaccine. However, the disease can be treated by antibiotic doxycycline.

Epidemic typhus usually occurs in outbreaks in areas with poor sanitary conditions and crowding are present.

Scrub typhus typically is not seen at all in North America usually occurring in Southeast Asia, Japan, and northern Australia. While Murine typhus usually occurs in tropical and subtropical parts of the world.

Robison needs all the prayers he can get to ensure he has a speedy and healthy recovery!
