Donald Trump and Benjamin Netanyahu

Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu of Israel was “absolutely delighted” to welcome President Donald Trump and First Lady Melania Trump to Jerusalem.

Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu specifically praised President Trump for visiting the Western Wall and being the first acting President to visit the holy location.

The Western Wall is significant because it was originally erected by Herod the Great as part of the expansion of the Second Jewish Temple. The wall enclosed the Temple Mount, the holiest site in Judaism. The Western Wall has been a site for prayer and pilgrimage for centuries.

You can’t help but be infected by Prime Minister’s Netanyahu’s absolute delight in bringing President Donald Trump to Jerusalem.

Watch for yourself:

President Trump visited the Western Wall earlier Monday where he stood at the wall for several moments and then placed a note between the cracks. Leaving a prayer note has become a tradition at the Western Wall. The notes are periodically collected and transported to the nearby Mount of Olives cemetery where they are buried.

Watch:

Ivanka Trump noted how it “was a deeply meaningful to visit the holiest site of my faith and to leave a note of prayer.”
