Tonight’s NXT Takeover: Orlando has been one for the ages.
We had two killer debuts, and the Women’s match shattered all expectations and made Asuka the ultimate woman to beat.
But, as is tradition, there are always surprise guests at Takovers.
Last year at Takeover Dallas, now NXT champion Bobby Roode made his first appearance.
This year, a former WWE Intercontinental and Tag Team Champ made a surprise ringside appearance. And the crowd went nuts!
McIntyre was initially billed as the “Chosen One” in WWE, but got sidelined and ended up being in the jobber tag team 3MB before being released.
He took that as motivation. Going by Drew Galloway on the indies, he has been a force. He’s held several big titles, including the TNA Impact Heavyweight and Grand Championships while helping set-off the British wrestling boom.
He is currently doing a lot of work for WWN and Evolve Wrestling, which has a talent share agreement with WWE.
No word yet on if McIntyre is back with WWE. But this would indicate that he’s at least on speaking terms and could be involved in NXT.
