Shinsuke Nakamura Coming to the Main Roster at WrestleMania 33?

Nakamura Move

Some Superstars outgrow their wrestling promotion quickly. Just think about Asuka, Ember Moon, and Fin Balor. Another name that can be added to that list is Shinsuke Nakamura, who in my opinion should’ve been upgraded to the main roster ages ago. Fortunately, there are some rumors circulating that Shinsuke Nakamura could be coming to the main roster, so there is much for us wrestling fans to be excited about.

Triple H Statement

Recent interviews with Triple H certainly indicate that Shinsuke Nakamura is ready for the main roster and expected to make his debut. However, Triple H did not give any details, he just said it was not a matter of if, but a matter of when.

Nakamura was rumored to be the 30th entrant during the Royal Rumble, so you can imagine my disappointment when Roman Reigns came out! I was so disappointed, I went to do my laundry, because I just couldn’t stomach another Super Reigns promotion. Now, Shinsuke could make an appearance at WrestleMania 33. I just hope we don’t get disappointed again.

Match with Bobby Roode

We might get an idea if Shinsuke Nakamura is going to make his way to the main roster at WrestleMania based on what happens Saturday. If he defeats Bobby Roode, the chances of him going to RAW or SmackDown are slim, since it is likely WWE will do another rivalry with Roode. Even though there has been a case where the NXT title was brought to RAW – just think about Kevin Owens when he made his debut – I don’t see this happening if Nakamura wins the title back. I believe that if he gets the title, he may not be moved until after the new draw.

Statement by Dave Meltzer

Dave Meltzer, one of the most prominent pro-wrestling journalists, has also reported on a possible upgrade for Shinsuke Nakamura to the main roster. In the latest edition of the Wrestling Observer, he made a similar statement as Triple H: “Right now the plan is for Nakamura to debut on the main roster very shortly. I’m not sure what date it will be, but the likely scenario is he loses to Bobby Roode at Takeover and starts immediately after, with RAW after WrestleMania being a good bet.”

Many people, including myself, want to see Nakamura debut at WrestleMania, because his entrance on the biggest stage of them all is something we all want to see. Unfortunately, I believe WWE fears that his debut might get overshadowed by other possible debuts, including the rumored return of the Hardy Boyz.

Meltzer predicted that Nakamura might be heading to RAW, but I would personally prefer to see him heading to SmackDown if the upgrade happens before the new draw. Nakamura has also stated that he would love to face AJ Styles at WrestleMania, so SmackDown would be the obvious choice if a rivalry between the two is in the cards.

However, rumors have been going around that AJ might go to RAW after the new draft, so if Nakamura does go to SmackDown, he will need to be drafted to RAW for us to see this match of epic proportions!

What’s your take? Where do you think Nakamura will go? Let us know in the comments!
