Órla Fallon

Gaelic music is popular far beyond Ireland. The Irish have a lot of pride in their country and culture and it shows in their music.

“Mo Ghile Mear” is one of those Irish songs that transcends time as it beautifully explains the struggles of the country and the hope of the Irish people. It was written in the 18th century as Ireland and Scotland were falling to English colonization. Their hopes lied with Prince Charles Stuart.

In the video below, harpist and singer Órla Fallon performs this traditional song in a beautiful format!

Beautiful! Traditional Gaelic songs like this make me so proud to be Irish!
