Jon Voight is an Academy Award winning actor known for his performances in Heat, The Rainmaker, Mission: Impossible, Enemy of the State, and Deliverance.

Voight is also a political convert. In the 60s he campaigned for George McGovern and was an active anti-war protestor. However in 2008 he penned a piece saying he “was caught up in the hysteria during the Vietnam era, which was brought about through Marxist propaganda underlying the so-called peace movement. The radicals of that era were successful in giving the communists power to bring forth the killing fields and slaughter 2.5 million people in Cambodia and South Vietnam.”

Voight has been an outspoken proponent of Donald Trump. He endorsed Mr. Trump in March saying “He’s an answer to our problems. We need to get behind him. The Republicans need to unite behind this man. We need somebody to go in and reconstruct us in a sort of way, get us back to where we were, who we need to be.”

He has defended Trump on multiple occasions most recently from a vehement attack by Robert De Niro.
