Andy Kaufman was a brilliant entertainer. You never knew which character he would be when he was scheduled to appear on late night television in the 70s and early 80s.

His Elvis performances are probably my favorites. Check out Kaufman as Elvis on the Tonight Show for a nice memory of this funny man.

Kaufman may be most well known for his role in “Taxi,” but I cherish these late night appearances more than the sitcom. His death at age 35 was quite the shocker. I remember how so many of us thought it was another one of his pranks.
