Fast food

Nutritionists have long warned us about fast food. While many of us tend to brush off this information because McDonald’s fries are so tasty, new information may make us reconsider eating fast food at all.

Researchers at George Washington University have discovered that people who eat fast food have a higher presence of potentially harmful industrial chemicals. While I wouldn’t recommend eating fast food as birth control, the research concluded that these chemicals create a higher rate of infertility also.

Data was collected for seven years. It found high traces of DEHP and DiNP in the urine of people who had eaten fast food in the previous 24 hours. This greatly increases a person’s risk for diabetes and high blood pressure.

It is believed the rise in these chemicals is caused by the food touching so much machinery. Obviously, it is healthier to eat fresh produce. Fast food not only causes these issues, but regular consumption can cause obesity.

But, we live busy lives and the reality is that sometimes we just don’t have time to cook and need to grab something on the go. Perhaps the best advice is just to eat it as needed and not as a regular part of your diet.
