veteran, dialysis, police

Arthur Darrow depends on dialysis to stay alive. So, when this veteran was on his way for treatment but was blocked because of a St Patrick’s Day parade, he was upset. He couldn’t walk the several blocks to get to the dialysis center and was about to cancel his life saving treatment, simply because he couldn’t get there.

Then, police officers stepped up and helped the 84 year old Missouri man get his dialysis. Not only did they get him to the dialysis center, but they made sure he was able to get back to his car several hours later.

Affirming stories that show how much police officers care about those who are more vulnerable are what we need to hear more about. They didn’t have to help him, but they did – and they even went the extra mile.
