The Texas Republican Party just made a very Texas announcement. Texas Republicans can both open and conceal carry at their state convention.
This surely will get the gun grabbers upset. Too bad! We have something called the Second Amendment that allows us to own and carry guns and Texas respects that right.
The leader of Open Carry Texas praised the announcement. “The bottom line is there is no place where you cannot be the target of criminal activity,” C.J. Grisham told the Dallas Morning News. “Since there’s no such thing to a safe place, there should be no place where you don’t have a right to a self-defense.”
But, the national convention in Cleveland will not support the Second Amendment rights of attendees. The Secret Service announced that no matter how many people sign the petition to allow guns to be carried at the RNC, this will not be happening.
Like Texas, Ohio allows open and concealed carry of guns. But, the Secret Service is taking the lead role on this front and have drawn the line in the sand.
Do you think people should be able to carry weapons at the conventions? Please share your opinion.
