Ramblin’ Lou Schriver played a crucial role in the spread of country music to the mainstream masses of America.
According to American News, Schriver toured all over the country, and he sponsored many future country music stars before they became icons. This list of stars he took under his wing included Hank Williams, Johnny Cash, Dolly Parton, Charley Pride, Willie Nelson, and Loretta Lynn.
Schriver’s family had their own country band called the Ramblin’ Lou Family Band. This group included his beloved wife of 54 years as well as their four children, then his five grandchildren eventually joined the band.
Sadly, Schriver passed away earlier this year at the age of 86. He will be dearly missed by the entire country music world. God bless you, Ramblin’ Lou!
