Viewers of BBC South East Today were stunned this week when anchor Rachel Mackley suddenly became ill and fainted mid-broadcast.
While giving the weather forecast on the live show, Mackley began to suffer from a shortness of breath.
“I’m so sorry, I’m going to faint,” she told her coworkers as she began to fall backward offstage, according to Western Journalism. The camera quickly cut away from Mackley, but viewers then took to Twitter to express their shock at what had happened.
“Just to let you know our weather presenter Rachel is up on her feet and will be absolutely fine. Thank you for all the kind messages,” BBC South East wrote in a statement. Mackley herself also took to Twitter to thank her fans for their support.
