Stephen Curry

Stephen Curry is one of the best basketball players in the NBA. But, he’s also a humble man and a strong Christian. He’s not afraid to speak about his faith either.

Nike wasn’t happy that Curry used a sharpie to write a bible verse on his shoes. So, he broke that contract and went with a company that was open to his faith.

Curry has partnered with Under Armour to bring his faith to his footwear. His UA shoes have “I can do all things” printed on them.

“It represents a Bible verse I wear on my shoe,” said Curry. “Philippians 4:13. It says ‘I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.’ It’s also my mantra, how I get up for games and why I play the way I do.”

He calls the shoe “The Curry One” and the tagline is “Charged By Belief.” Curry thanks God for the abilities he has been given.

“Obviously, there’s a lot of hoopla and fanfare that follows you wherever you go, but I know where my talent comes from,” the point guard said. “I know why I play the game, and it’s not to score 30 points a night, but it’s to use the stage I’m on. I’ve been put here for a specific purpose: to be a witness and to share my testimony as I go through it.”

Curry is such a proud Christian that he wanted it reflected in the footwear his name is attached to. This way he can spread the message.

Stephen had an amazing game winning shot against the Oklahoma Thunder on Saturday. And he was wearing his Charged By Belief shoes!
