Actress Alyssa Milano made headlines recently when she announced that she plans to breastfeed her daughter Elizabella until she is six years-old.
Already a mother to a four year-old son named Milo, the Charmed actress has stirred up controversy by posting photos of herself breastfeeding her children online. She has also been criticized for her outspoken opinions on breastfeeding, which many are calling outlandish.
“When you have these babies, that connection is meant to be and so profound,” she told ET while promoting her new line of designer paper towels. “You look at them and go, ‘Oh, this is why. This is why I went through everything in my life.”
According to American Overlook, Milano went on to point out the difference between the public’s reaction to Miley Cyrus showing her nipple at the MTV Video Music Awards and their reaction to her own breastfeeding photos.
“Everyone’s fine with her nipples being out,” Milano lamented. “I think people are more comfortable sexualizing breasts that relating them to what they were made for, which is feeding another human.”
