Actor Jamie Foxx was practically Superman on Monday, after an unidentified driver skidded off the road outside of his Los Angeles home.

The driver landed upside down after he hit a ditch, MSN reported. The car, which lit on fire, was right outside of Foxx’s gate.

Without thinking twice, Foxx called 9-11 then ran outside and helped the driver who was still buckled up inside of the burning vehicle. Foxx got him out of the car before officials arrived on the scene and got him out of harm’s way.

The driver survived, although is suffering from serious burns.

Foxx posted the following on his Twitter account after the rescue:

Foxx told NBC Los Angeles, “I don’t look at it as heroic, I look at it as I just had to do something.”

Foxx should be applauded for his heroic act, especially in the midst of the controversy surrounding the Oscars. While other black actors are complaining about the “whiteness” of the awards ceremony, Foxx pulled a man from his truck seconds before it burst into flames.

It’s a breath of fresh air to hear about a celebrity who has good morals.
