With Season 4 of Total Divas kicking off this week, it’s a perfect opportunity to highlight a WWE Diva on this week’s edition of Flashback Friday. If Total Divas was around during her tenure, Eve Torres could be the perfect woman to headline the show and cause drama. Therefore, her career will be looked at this week.

The former model and dancer, now 30, started her career in a similar fashion to some aspiring Tough Enough competitors right now. Eve was the winner of the 2007 WWE Divas Search, which happens to be the last time the competition took place. The Divas Search returns this season and Eve could be the perfect candidate for a guest-host position if she’s interested in it.

After winning the Divas Search, it wasn’t until 2009 that Eve became a full-time wrestler within the WWE. She started her career as more of a dancer and valet, but she turned into one of the best divas to ever step foot into the squared circle. Eve’s career would begin to take off immediately following her storyline romance with Chris Masters in 2009.

After WrestleMania in 2010, Eve’s title reign begin to take charge. She defeated Maryse for the WWE Diva’s Championship, but would lose the title not too long after. It wouldn’t be for another year until she would regain the championship, and after she regained her title at the Royal Rumble in 2011, she was then able to hold onto it for four months.

After losing the title to Brie Bella in April, 2011, it wouldn’t take her that long to regain her championship. During her tenure in the WWE, Eva managed to put on some great matches and was involved with some different stipulations including her “Dress to Impress Evening Gown” match.

After losing the title, Eve’s career would only last about another year within the business. Stuck in a feud with Kane, Eve found herself stuck in a battle with The Big Red Monster. It was a creepy part of Eve’s career, as expected with Kane involved, but it made for some pretty entertaining airtime within the Divas Division. Eve was one of the first divas to go away from the old form of stripteases and sexuality to get popular, and instead used her in-ring ability and beauty to get over with the fans.

Before her career ended, Eve was able to capture her third WWE Divas Championship, becoming the first person to do that, at the time. It was a big moment in Divas history and her total reign as champion was the second most of all-time before she retired. On January 7, 2013 Eve lost her title to Kaitlyn, which ended her total reign as WWE Divas champion at 260 days.

Nikki Bella is quickly approaching Eve’s championship reign, which is third among all divas, and will most likely end up passing her before she drops the title. There have only been a few divas who have been able to hold the championship for 200-plus days and by being among names like Maryse and AJ Lee it shows how great of a career she had.

Trained in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, while also participating in kickboxing, Eve has a strong wrestling background that really showed within the ring. She also had a loveable personality that would have been a perfect match for Total Divas if she was still involved with the company.

Eve is arguably one of the best divas to participate in the WWE within the last 10 years and she is definitely one of the more entertaining wrestlers and made the Divas Division worth watching during her days in the company. After retiring young from the WWE immediately following her inability to defend her title in 2013, it wouldn’t be a surprise to see her name inducted into the WWE Hall-of-Fame soon.
